In just a few mere 24 hours, I will be boarding a plane which will take me to London where I will begin my in-hostile invasion of the UK. Invasion is such a harsh word; perhaps ‘taking advantage of’ is more of an appropriate term to use in regards to my upcoming move to London! That’s is right, your savvy author will be following the trend set by many typical Aussies and moving to London for the next two years (hopefully).
So far, the move to London has been a bit taunting to be honest. I have lived abroad for long periods of time before, having lived in Taiwan and Japan for a year, but for some strange reason, moving to London seems to the most scariest move of them all so far. Previously, before my move to Taiwan or Japan, I felt nothing but excitement and enthusiasm. However, now with this impending London invasion, I have been actually having my bouts of anxiety and doubt. It’s those negative thoughts of ‘what if’ that have been circling my mind. For a long period of time, I was panicking because I have been panicking! Fortunately however, with the clock ticking closer towards my departure, I have mellowed down on my negativity and am now turning my positivity and optimism to eleven! I guess you can’t do anything much but just look forward to the ride, after all, I will be moving to Britain – the home of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Doctor Who, Sherlock, Hugh Grant and Nigella Lawson*.

So with phase one of my invasion to London about to begin shortly, I can only look forward to the adventure and fuel my excitement by watching, reading, listening, eating and drinking everything that is ‘English’.
Long Live Britannia!

Wonderful — have a blast. London is one of the best cities on the planet — enjoy it all and report back often!
Thank you very much Elyse!
